We have a similar style of chair (from the Mothercare website) but it didn't come with any cushions. When Leo was still wobbly we propped a square pillow behind him and that worked pretty well. Now he just sits on the wooden chair, so it's really easy to wipe down. It's doesn't look as stylish as yours though.

Well, after all that, Twink & I are still going! Less often than before, once every day or so. I think the end is in sight, but at least I've got time to get used to the idea! I do know that it's just the next stage in our relationship, but it's been such a big part of our relationship (and for many of my non-breastfeeding friends, it seems to be considered the defining feature of my parenting), it's a little scary to see the next stage coming up & not knowing how it'll be.

I know how heart-rending it can feel to give up breastfeeding a child. But having said that, remember how absolutely amazing you are to have come this far. Most mothers don't go beyond a few days. Those that do, rarely make it past the first couple of weeks. And those that get past that normally can't be arsed after a few months, or if they can, they breathe a huge sigh of relief at 6 months when they think they can move onto the bottle. Whereas you've fed Twink for 29 whole months, and not only that, have nursed through a pregnancy and nursed both Twink and Squish simultaneously. You really are fantastic. And remember, if Twink gives up, it doesn't make your relationship with him any less close. Different, maybe, but no less close. When I stopped feeding my first three I used the time I would have spent nursing to give them lots of cuddles instead.

Beautiful post, once again saying it better than I could myself! Nursing Aversions are horrible and so upsetting when something you loved so much turns to something you hate doing. I hope you can enjoy feeding Twink again and end things with happy memories.

That's it exactly...books are so much more than just paper, & anyone trying to say otherwise, particularly about a holy book, is just a little naive.

I remember this news story. I'm with you. I was outraged and dismayed and finally just saddened by what people are capable of. It would be fine if everyone thought of books as just paper. But they don't. Especially not holy books. The act of burning that particular book by those particular people in this particular political climate is not harmless. It isn't designed to be harmless. Even if they say they are only asserting their right to do what they please with a book, even if it isn't an illegal act, it is clear that such an act is designed to incite hatred. It isn't just arrogant, it's stupid and isn't going to help anyone.

I totally agree with every word you wrote. It expresses exactly how I feel about the whole book burning situation. I don't know if the news story was referring the the Reverend here in America that plans to burn a copy of the Quran on 9/11. If so, I guess he does have the right to do it, I just don't agree with it.
